Helen Chen's journey in the world of hospitality began on the North Fork of Long Island, where she grew up immersed in her family's restaurant business. Her love for food and her passion for sharing the experience of food as a medium to connect people and cultures were cultivated from an early age. This passion, paired with a commitment to lifelong learning, inspired Helen to pursue a degree in Hospitality Management at Cornell University.

As the General Manager of Smokey Buns, Helen brings her extensive experience and unwavering commitment to excellence. With a special love for ice cream, stemming from her time at Magic Fountain, she is known for her meticulous attention to detail and ability to balance creative vision with financial realities.

Passionate about exploring global culinary experiences, Helen's travels enrich her appreciation for diverse cuisines and the art of hospitality. Her extensive research on international market trends keeps her team well-informed about emerging concepts, empowering Tip Top Hospitality to stay ahead in the ever-evolving hospitality industry.

CHEF

JoJo, a Brooklyn native now residing in Smithtown, NY, brings a fresh touch to the culinary world. His passion for food began in his family kitchen alongside his mother and later flourished at culinary school, where he developed a fascination for the connection between food and history.

JoJo started his career at SEN in Sag Harbor as a line cook, quickly advancing to Jr. Sous Chef. He later gained valuable front-of-house experience as a restaurant manager at Ruth Chris and as an assistant general manager at Del Fuego. Returning to SEN, JoJo collaborated with sushi chefs on various chef's dinners and events, mastering the art of Japanese cuisine.

Beyond the kitchen, JoJo's interests are as diverse as his palate. He finds joy in working on cars, listening to basketball podcasts, playing video games, and exploring the multifaceted realm of fashion.

At Smokey Buns, JoJo is eager to infuse the menu with the rich flavors of soul food and retro American dishes, working closely with the beverage director to create perfect pairings with their whiskey and beer offerings.
